I was historically abused by a family member who has pleaded guilty to 7 counts of sexual abuse and consequently jailed, I was refused compensation due to section 19. I was between the age of 4-7yrs at the time.I had no control over who I was living with as I was orphaned at the age of 3. I have suffered mental health issues all my life as a result. If the perpetrator was a neighbour or stranger I would have been entitled to compensation!!!!
