Myself and younger brother were sexually assaulted as children by a family member who was eventually sent to prison in 2016.We applied for compensation and firstly refused under same roof rule.When the rule was amended we reapplied and my younger brother was awarded £11000 but I was denied as I have a conviction that will never be spent.My younger brother has convictions but they are spent.
The sexual abuse I suffered as a child led to a troubled and difficult childhood and eventually police involvement and prison.
